The Art Club of McKinney Celebrates 100 Years!

November 8-9, 2014 (Saturday & Sunday)
Heard-Craig Hall
306 North Church Street
McKinney, TX

The Art Club of McKinney was founded by Kathryn Heard Craig on Nov. 10, 1914. She was a gifted artist whose talent was apparent by the age of 8 and was passionate about art throughout her lifetime. Mrs. Craig wanted the community to have access to fine art and would often arrange for traveling exhibits to come to McKinney.

100 years later her wishes continue to be supported by The Art Club.

The Art Club of McKinney is the oldest art club in Texas and will have a Centennial Celebration November 8-9, 2014 (Saturday and Sunday) at the Heard-Craig Hall.

On Saturday and Sunday, in the lower level of the Heard-Craig Hall, members will display their art work, demonstrate their artistic skills, and may also have art works for sale. The Art Club will also be part of MAST, the McKinney Art Studio Tour.

On Sunday afternoon, in the upper level of the Heard-Craig Hall, there will be lectures and slide presentations from three noted speakers, historic exhibits of the founding and past Art Club activities, and a display of current members’ art work. A commemorative cake and light snacks will be available in the lower level.

Y’all come and celebrate with us!
