Earnest “Ernie” Benton and

Somewhere In Between bold lines and colors, realistic shapes and figures, blended textures and soulful sounds is a contemporary take on the substance of life that reverberates in our daily lives.

Somewhere In Between the imagination and the realistic, a collaboration of color, creativity, and style reveals the abstract essence of form and structure, music and color. This is where you will find the works of Ernie Benton and Maureen Brouillette.

Many of Ernie’s original acrylic paintings express the artists’ experiences with an emphasis on beauty, movement, textures, colors, and the rhythms of music.  His medium of choice is acrylic and pastels.  His palette is a mixture of earth tones, cool pastels, and vivid primary colors that focus on styles, texture, and form.  Ernie’s paintings are highly collected and hang in fine homes and private collections across the United States, in the collection of  Northlake College in Irving, Texas, as well as a piece for a Yankee Magazine article.  Ernie enjoys participating in public art projects, non-profit benefit projects, and has been juried into many shows, exhibitions, and arts festivals across the country.

Maureen is an accomplished artist and an enthusiastic teacher. She combines acrylic, photos, drawings, architectural images and abstract shapes in collage form. She has been featured in The Artist’s Magazine and Watercolor Artist magazine and has received numerous awards in national juried exhibitions. Maureen’s work is highly collected with works in private residences, public places and , in corporate collections, including a recent acquisition by Rutgers University, and two paintings, Organics I and II, which were featured nationwide by Crate and Barrel. Previously she worked for 25 years as a commercial designer and art director.

Now Maureen spends much of her time teaching classes and workshops, presenting demos and critiques, and judging art shows.  Visit Maureen’s website at  (http://www.mbrouillette.com/)
