Giddens Gallery is pleased to announce “Transitions” by Julie Campbell.

“I Love to gather interesting images and objects from various books, newspapers and graphics to assemble them in unique ways. Then these cut paper pieces and assemblages inspire me to incorporated the different elements in my paintings. I like it when people can see the progression of thought from one piece to the next and come up with their own ideas of what the works mean to them.

Some Pieces are inspired by my own experiences but most of them grow organically from the found images and become meaningful to me as I layer the subject matter into the final work of art.

Objects in my works include a doll arm found on the beach, wooden pieces from an abandoned in Colorado, Cracker Jack toys, Green Stamps, Sonic cup toppers from the 1970’s, antique match boxes and matches, and typewriter ribbon spools. See what you can find and what memories you have of them.”
