Located at 2712 Weisenberger Street, We’re back, and at our original location, too! After a long and much-needed hiatus, we’re excited to show an extraordinary group of fiber artists.

Art Room is pleased to announce its upcoming group exhibition “SEVEN: FIBERS”, representing the work of local and regional artists, including Sheryl Anaya, Taylor Barnes, Molly Beaufait, Jennifer Cummings, Casey Galloway, and Rebecca Shewmaker.

“SEVEN: FIBERS” features six female fiber artists who focus on materials, methodologies, and manual labor as part of the works’ significances. Through the delicate weaving, sewing, and construction of fabrics, paper, thread, and yarn, the artists re-contextualize domestic, functional forms into two and three-dimensional works of art that exhibit significant meaning and prioritize aesthetic value over utility. As the artists explore the tactile fiber art medium, they prolifically examine themes of the female body, peace within the landscape, and the connection between the artist’s hand and materials.

“SEVEN: FIBERS” will run through September 13, 2017. Gallery hours are by appointment only. For additional information please contact Nathan Madrid, Katie Murray, or Deedra Baker at, and visit our website for more information about upcoming shows and to join our mailing list. An exhibition catalog will be available for purchase.
