On Creativity…
Diana Pollak

This week Dallas is hosting a group of amazing artists from London to lead more than 15 lectures, interactive workshops and round table discussions on Sacred Geometry. From ancient time and across all cultures there are creative impulses that explore the recurring mathematical patterns found in nature. Often found in religious structures such as churches, temples and mosques, such patterns are found throughout art, architecture, mandalas and even in music.

In Dallas, the spiral stained glass ceiling window at Thanksgiving Square is a prime example.  Sacred geometry is found throughout nature, including strands of DNA, the cornea of our eyes, snowflakes, pinecones, nautilus shells, the cosmos, diamond crystals and the list goes on and on!  This geometric archetype permeating the seen and unseen world is considered to have metaphysical properties which demonstrate interconnectedness.
Spo nsored by the Memnosyne Institute and the Islamic Art Revival Series, there are plenty of events still to catch at various venues in the city, including UTD, SMU, the Museum of Biblical Art and the Eisemann Center.  For a list of events, visit
