Celebrating our 50th Anniversary Year
Richardson Civic Art Society invites all DFW metroplex artists to join us for an art-filled season during our 50th Anniversary Year. RCAS was founded in 1966 as the first Art group in Richardson. Then and now, our purpose has been to support and encourage the creative Visual Arts and artists. Our membership consists of artists, educators, students, friends and patrons of the arts in the North Texas region. Art shows, artist’s demonstrations, and workshops are organized by RCAS to benefit anyone interested in the arts.
Richardson Civic Art Society meets on the third Tuesday of each month (September through May) in the Richardson Public Library basement at 6:30pm. The library is located at: 900 Civic Center Drive, Richardson, TX 75080
The first artist’s demonstration will be at our monthly meeting on September 15, 2015 at 6:30pm. A mixed media (ink and watercolor) demonstration will be given by Priscilla Krejci, a signature member of the American Watercolor Society, Southwestern Watercolor Society, and the Western Federation of Watercolor Societies. Her work has been included in the books; Best of Watercolor – Painting Composition, Best of Watercolor – Painting Light and Shadow, People in Watercolor, and the 2001 and 2004 summer issues of “International Artist”. Her work can be seen at http://priscillakrejci.com.
The RCAS Annual Regional Juried Art Exhibit is our most prestigious show of the year, and this year will mark the celebration of our 50th Anniversary. The reception and awards presentation will be held at the Charles W. Eisemann Center, 2351 Performance Drive, Richardson, TX 75082 on May 15, 2016 from 7:00 to 9:00pm.
Finally, RCAS sponsors six art shows each year with different objectives, from membership shows to area elementary school competitions, to a regional juried exhibition with generous cash and merchandise awards. The first show is a Membership Show in the fall, which will hang in the Richardson Public Library from October 3, 2015 through November 14, 2015.
