Registration for Creative Forces Conference Now Open

Texas Creative Forces Arts and Military Conference


January 29 & 30, 2018 
Killeen, Texas
Open to artists, arts providers, arts therapists, the military community, and the general public.
Creative Forces is creating a community-based military and family support network to provide increased opportunities for arts programs in and around Fort Hood.
Register now for this free conference, which will introduce related arts programming available in central Texas. You may register for both days, or just one.
The conference will include:
  • demonstrations by artists and Creative Forces program participants
  • best practices in arts activities for the military community
  • an arts providers meet & greet
  • discussions of arts needs and experiences in the military community
Day one (January 29, 2018, 8 AM – 4 PM) will take place at the Shilo Inn (3701 South WS Young Drive, Killeen, TX 76542) and will be centered on local arts providers and their programs. This will include a chance for attendees to participate in art activities, to learn about best practices, and to meet arts providers.
Day two (January 30, 2018, 9:30 AM – 4 PM) will take place at Fort Hood and will be centered around what is happening on the Fort Hood base. This will be a chance for military personnel to talk about their needs and to share experiences.

Creative Forces: NEA Military Healing Arts Network is an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) in partnership with the U.S. Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs, plus state and local arts agencies. The network places creative arts therapies at the core of patient-centered care at 11 military medical facilities across the country, including Fort Hood.
