Plano Art Association Studio Tour and
Art Market set for November 4 and 5
This two-day event, scheduled for November 4 and 5, will feature the studios and exhibits of 21 Plano area artists. They are members of the Plano Art Association. The studio locations are throughout the Plano area, from Allen to Richardson to Wylie as well as East and West Plano.
Hours are Saturday, November 4, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm
The artists are opening their studios so the art-appreciating public can view their work environment and their art work up close. There is an array of styles and mediums on display; paintings, photography and three-dimensional art.
New this year, the tour will feature an Art Market venue. Six artists will be displaying their work at AramArt Institute at 2309 W. Parker Road, just West of Custer Road.
For 13 years a group of artists in the Plano and surrounding art community have hosted this tour of their studios each November. For the first time, this year, PAA has taken on this highly successful event and opened it up to their members.
A special website has been set up with an interactive map that tour goers can use to plot their own tour route. Samples of each artist’s art work is also displayed on the site.
“This is great timing for a gift-buying, shopping opportunity for folks to buy original artwork directly from the artist who created it. By meeting artists and learning more about their creative processes, you gain a deep appreciation for their work. Often prices are especially friendly when dealing directly with the artists,” according to Gene Dillard, President of Plano Art Association.
