 Oil and Cotton is happy to announce our partnership with six talented artists and Neiman Marcus. A HUGE thank you to Rachel RushingLily Smith-KirkleyRandy Guthmiller,Jay BaileyAnalise Minjarez, and Sarah Westrup. These good people have worked to create five site-specific window installations in the historic downtown Neiman Marcus building. The windows along Ervay St. and Main St. will open over the holiday weekend. Happy Fourth of July!!!

July 11-25, three week series
with Julie Webb

 

Julie has traveled, learning from  Classical Egyptian Masters and

studied and taught belly dancing for over 10 years. Students will learn basic belly dance moves and the history of the dance and music. Have fun, learn to isolate muscles and enjoy your own grace and femininity through belly dance.

Experience MACRA-MAGIC. Join us for an interpretation the classic 1970’s art of macrame and learn to make a plant holder.

 

A variety of rope, hemp, colored synthetic cords and beads will be available for students to embellish their creations.

WONDERS OF WEAVING!!!
BULB BASKET with Jan Schmidt

Saturday, June 12, 10-4pm

Students learn an open weave pattern and make a functional bulb basket in one class day. The basket is woven in the round in your lap and takes on a beautiful organic shape and finished with a leather strap for hanging. This is a wonderful beginning level basket weaving class, all levels are welcome.

The MAGIC of Photography!!!   TINTYPES with Ginger Berry
Sunday,  July 13, 10-4pm
  

Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of the wet-plate collodion process. Through an immersive, hands-on, approach, you will uncover the techniques and knowledge necessary to produce your very own, unique, tintypes, uncovering one of the most significant advancements in the history photography. All levels are welcome, no darkroom experience needed.
