Larry Kleinschmidt Collection of Texas Art opens July 10

The Larry Kleinschmidt Collection of Texas Art

A message from Texas Art Expo

Larry Kleinschmidt and Collectors of Fort Worth Art cordially invite you to attend the opening reception for The Larry Kleinschmidt Collection of Texas Art exhibition. In the early 20th century Fort Worth had artists and intellectuals who worked to make a difference in the city’s quality of life. Today their art is the evidence of who they were and what they accomplished. The Larry Kleinschmidt Collection of Texas Art focuses on this critical period in Fort Worth’s cultural history. The collection is the product of Fort Worth native Larry Kleinschmidt’s love of art and his determination to uncover paintings, prints and sculptures that survive from the city’s colorful past. Finding these artworks required years of effort and countless trips to local estate sales, flea markets, antique shops, art galleries and auctions. 45 selected pieces from Larry’s collection, representing local art made before and during the Great Depression (1910-1939) along with works that exemplify the rise of modern art in Texas during the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s, highlight this once-in-a-lifetime exhibit.

Please come to the opening reception on Friday July 10th, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center. Complimentary exhibition Read the July issue of 360 West Magazine or visit – booklets available.
