Kettle Art proudly presents ‘That 60’s Show’

Kettle Art proudly presents ‘That 60’s Show’ a flashback 50+ years in the making. Opening Thursday, October 24, 2013, 7:00-10:00 p.m., in the front gallery at Kettle Art 2650-B Main Street in Deep Ellum, and running through Saturday, November 29, 2013.

The Sixties era became synonymous with change. From the approval of birth control by the FDA in 1960 to the counterculture revolution of the civil rights and feminist movements, American society experienced unprecedented upheaval. Diverse social influences and technological advances, including the debut of Pop Art and the British Invasion, and Neil Armstrong’s first walk on the moon in 1969, occurred alongside the devastation of the Vietnam War and numerous assassinations of civic leaders, counterbalanced by the formation of the Peace Corps and the hope symbolized by the “Flower Power” generation.

Join us for this unique artistic interpretation featuring works by Miguel Aguilar, Brad Albright, Frank Campagna, Justin Clumpner, Dan Colcer, Brian Crawford, Ange Fitzgerald, Nick Glenn, Jonathon Kimbrell, Aralyn McGregor, Michelle McLaughlin, Jody Pham, Guy Reynolds, Patricia Rodriguez, Ryan Theis, and George Wallace. Opening reception video installation provided by Robert ‘Rockula’ Knott. Audio soundtrack provided by Wild Bill Stanley.
