From Antiques & Collectibles To Puppies & Kittens At KACC In January

If like many people you’re looking around at your home these cold, dreary winter days and thinking “This place needs a little brightening up!”, then Kerr Arts & Cultural Center may be high on your list of places to visit in January.

From January 8th through February 1st KACC will be featuring three events that offer you the opportunity to find just the thing to brighten these winter days.

The annual Vintage & Collectibles Show/Sale is always a hit – it is amazing what KACC members have stashed in their closets and this event always brings out some great stuff, from vintage jewelry and accessories to antique furniture, folk art and old toys. As always KACC staff and volunteers keep an eagle eye on what is put in this sale and there are only two rules: price it right, and no junk!

Running simultaneously with the Vintage & Collectibles show is KACC’s annual “Starving Artists” show. This show is an opportunity for KACC artist-members to clear the decks of their work from the previous year and start 2015 with a clean slate, and it is your opportunity to pick up some great art.

Also running all month in the Derby Gallery is the “Members Pet Portraits” show featuring loving portraits of every conceivable type of pet from kittens to dogs to horses to …..? Animal lovers will not want to miss this unique exhibit! Making this exhibit of pet portraits even more of an event from the heart, the Freeman-Fritts Animal Clinic and Shelter will be sponsoring an Adoption Event at KACC on January 17th, 10 – 2. Adopt a pet this year and display their portrait next year!

A quick reminder – January is not too early to make your reservations for KACC’s annual “Chocolate Fantasy”, a Feb. 15 event that sells out quickly. You can book your reservations online, by phone, or in person. Reserve early so that you won’t be disappointed come Valentine’s weekend.

Kerr Arts & Cultural Center is located at 228 Earl Garrett in downtown Kerrville. Gallery hours are 10am – 4pm Tues-Sat and 1-4pm on Sundays. For more information call 830-895-2911 or drop by anytime during Gallery hours, or you can access our website 24/7 at www.kacckerrville.com
