October 5 – October 26, 2018
Reception: October 5, 2018; 6 – 9pm
In October, Home Fires will feature works representing a variety of art forms — painting, sculpture, photography, and textile — by a group of seven artists all connected to Fort Worth. All friends, some in the group grew up together here but have since moved to other places. Others are spouses or still living in the city. Their many and varied works of art have been sparked by a life-long connection to one of the most prominent and vital destinations for art in Texas and even the entire country. Reuniting at the place called home, they will share the influence their hometown had on them and where the lives they followed led. The Home Fires exhibition will occupy nearly all the gallery spaces at FWCAC and will reflect the indelible impact of home, which is, ultimately, both origin and destination.
Artists: Betty McBride Alcorn, Georgia James Clarke, Cass Hook, Wendy Hook, Willis F. Lee, Marilyn Maxwell, Scout Stormcloud
