Friday & Saturday: Glass Blowing Demonstrations at SiNaCa Studios

SiNaCa Studios is featuring work by Laura Donefer, and live glassblowing demonstrations.
Laura Donefer has been using glass as her primary medium for more than thirty years, often in combination with diverse materials. Known for her innovative and colorful blown glass and flame worked “Amulet Baskets”, she also pushes the boundaries with work that explore ideas concerning memory, assault, bereavement, joy and madness. SiNaCa Studios believes that through our educational outreach we can forge brighter futures and positively impact our community.
If you would like to watch artists working in hot glass please stop by the studio anytime Friday evening from 6pm to 9pm will be doing demos on Saturday starting at noon.

Fort Works Arts presents Cultural Affairs, a group art exhibition featuring spoken word and
musical performances, focusing on current issues of society. This show features the artwork of Riley Holloway, Rambo, Lauren Cross, Lauren Childs, Lenworth, Letitia Huckaby, James Talambas and Janna Tidwell. This satellite gallery will once again transform the Tilt Room at Shipping & Receiving into a raw and edgy, yet highly professional art space.
Spoken word at 8PM by artists So-So Topic, Will Richey and AP, Tammy Gomez, Terry Odis, Edyke Chilome and Fatima Hirsi. Please join us. This is one not to miss.

A group show of Still-life paintings ranging from contemporary to classical by artists from the Texas Academy of Figurative Art. Beautifully and meticulously painted, these works range from simple to symbolic in their compositional structure and meaning. The TAFA Gallery sits adjacent to the TAFA studios where students and faculty study realist drawing and painting. The Texas Academy of Figurative Art is dedicated to bringing contemporary realism to Texas.
