In the Spotlight

David Conn

TAC Juror’s Choice Award winner David Conn is an artist and Emeritus Professor of Art at TCU. His work has been shown in over 100 exhibitions in the United States, Central and South America, Japan, England and Europe.  His work is in the permanent collections of the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, The Modern Museum of Art, San Paulo, Brazil and the Bureau of Art Exhibitions, Lodz, Poland, as well as Southwestern Bell, GTE Corporation, American Airlines, TCU, the University of Texas at Austin, University of Dallas, University of Texas at Tyler, University of Wisconsin, and other public, private, and university collections.

In recent years David Conn has made linocuts of dense forest scenes. Using black ink on creamy white paper, he creates images of trees and tangled underbrush that alternate with dappled or streaming sunlight. The direction he is taking now focuses on images of cascading water.

James (AJ) Prestidge, known as “Artis the artist”, passed in 2012 at the age of 23.
