Ash Studios

Artes de la Rosa’s Gallery is pleased to present Recent Works by artist Fred Villanueva and Ash Studios. Featuring large unstretched canvases, Recent Works is a collaboration of work from Ash Studios. Painter, sculptor, conceptual and earthworks artist Fred Villanueva, a former apprentice of Dennis Oppenheim, is the owner of Ash Studios, a fine art and social practice project. After years of laboring towards the goal of establishing a painting and sculpture studio, with the intent of working towards the foundation of a “Bauhaus-like” working and learning studios, it became clear that the project was much larger than a single artist’s endeavor. Teaming with social practice artist Darryl Ratcliff, Ash Studios was formed and founded. The exhibit will hang from November 13th to January 3rd.

Fred Villanueva (b. 1973 – ) creates large scale paintings, sculptures, and time-based installations. His work combines images with abstract and figurative styles. Fred has exhibited in New York City, across the USA, Madrid, Spain, Rotterdam, The Netherlands, and more recently at the New Orleans Museum of Art, Mary Tomas Gallery Dallas, and Delurk Gallery North Carolina. Current major projects include the creation of Ash Studios (, a monumental scale social practice art project in Dallas. His greatest work is being father to his toddler girl, Rosario Teresia Villanueva. For more information, visit:
