Eclectic Wood Exhibit & Reception

“Eclectic Wood” is a display of wood art by seven local artists at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center during the month of December. The exhibition includes over 30 unique works made from various figured woods. These works illustrate the application of a variety of techniques including turning on a wood lathe, carving, laser engraving and enhancing with other media.

The artists are Bill Boehme, Fred Denke, David Marshall, Larry Roberts, Jim Tanksley, Chas Thornhill and Paul Tiefel. All have many years of working with wood both as an artistic and utility media. They met through membership in the Woodturners of North Texas, a local organization that promotes woodturning.

An artist’s reception will be held on December 5th from 6:00 – 9:00 PM at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center, 1300 Gendy Street, Fort Worth. The reception is free and open to the public.

We hope that visitors will enjoy this exhibition and find a new appreciation for wood as an artistic medium. Regular hours for the Fort Worth Community Arts Center are 9:00 – 5:00 Monday through Saturday.
