El Centro College, the first campus of the Dallas County Community College District, opened its doors in 1966. As the only community college located in downtown Dallas, we have a unique environment: creative, gritty, urban, and full of life. The work of our visual fine arts faculty reflects this vibrancy, as will be on display in this upcoming show. Works in a variety of media are included in the exhibit.

Artists in the exhibition include both our full-time and adjunct Visual Fine Art Faculty members:

Barbara Armstrong – abstract 2-d designs

Rachael Banks – intimate portrait photographs

Carlos DonJuan – abstract portraits and social/political scenes
Randall Garrett – recent performance artifacts

Jennifer Guest – analytical drawings and paintings

Matthew Guest – psychedelic zines and abstract paintings
Omar Hernandez – lowbrow digital reliefs on wood structures
Chaitra Linehan – 2-d nature themed works
Rosemary Meza-DesPlas – figures drawn and sewn in human hair

Andy Myers – wall mounted sculptural reliefs

DeAnna Ooley – jewelry / metal work
Paige Prater – 2-d paintings/prints

Eddy Rawlinson – psychedelic outsider paintings

Krystal Read – printmaking

Pilar Zornosa – jewelry / metal work
