Dan Colcer opens July 10 at Kettle Art

Romanian Artist Dan Colcer Funds U.S. Citizenship Via Deep Ellum Mural Project/Art Exhibit

Romanian immigrant Dan Colcer, who won the top prize of $1,500 at Deep Ellum’s TunnelVisions 2014 Mural Project in May, is using his winnings to complete the financial portion of his U.S. citizenship application. Colcer, a native of the historic region of Transylvania, has resided in the U.S. for six years, and is excited to achieve his dream of becoming an American citizen. “I feel like that Blind Melon video called ‘No Rain’. I feel accepted,” Colcer said.

During Colcer’s time in the Dallas area, he has become a well-known and respected artist in the artistic community and among collectors. His work can be seen at “Over the Line”, an exhibit at Kettle Art Gallery, opening on Thursday, July 10, 7-10pm.
