Cecy Turner’s February News

A native Dallasite, Cecy Turner received her formal art training at Vanderbilt University and the University of North Texas, followed by workshops by over 50 professional artists from across the nation. She is a Signature Member of the National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society, American Women Artists, National Watercolor Society, Southwestern Watercolor Society, Western Federation of Watercolor Societies, Outdoor Painters Society (Board Member), Plein Air Artists Colorado, Associated Creative Artists, American Plains Artists, and Texas and Neighbors . She is a Master Signature Member of Women Artists of the West (and a past president of WAOW), a Fellow of the American Artists Professional League and a member of Rocky Mountain Plein Air Painters.

The most exciting news is that Art of the West Magazine has featured my work in their March/April issue in the article, “Mother Nature’s Magic” beginning on page 63.


Panhandle-Plains Invitational Western Art Show and Sale 

Continuing through March 27th: If you happen to be in the Canyon, Texas, area just south of Amarillo, you ought to drop by and see this wonderful show. It is on the second floor of the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum, 2503 Fourth Avenue in Canyon, Texas. The Opening Reception is March 5th from 6-8 p.m. My oil below, “The Day Is Done,”  is one of my three paintings included in the show.



Solo Show at Sunset Gallery

March 4-29

Also, if you are in the panhandle area of Texas, please stop by and see my solo show at Sunset Art Gallery, 3701 Plains Blvd., Suite 122, in Amarillo, Texas. The Opening Reception is Friday, March 4th from 5-9 p.m.
“Afternoon Radiance” is one of the many paintings, both oils and watercolors, that I will have in the show, which hangs until March 29th. I hope you can stop by and
see it.
Plein Air Southwest Salon

Don’t miss this wonderful juried show of plein air paintings by the members of the Outdoor Painters Society! It begins on April 9th with a Quick Draw that morning (location TBA) and an Opening Reception from 4-7:00 at Southwest Galleries, Sigma at Alpha Rd., in Dallas, Texas.
“Endo Valley Treasures” is one of my four entries selected and was painted on location in Rocky Mountain National Park.

Solo Show in May

“Twilight Hush”  16×12 Oil
“Twilight Hush” will be one of the many paintings I’ll have on display at my SOLO SHOW in Dallas at Southwest Gallery’s Artists’ Showplace in May. Opening Reception is May 7th from 6-9 p.m. I will send out a special reminder about this. Mark it on your calendars!

Texas and Neighbors 31st Annual Regional Exhibit
takes place at the Irving Art Center, 3333 N. MacArthur Blvd., Irving, Texas from April 17th-May 14th.
My watercolor, “Golden Glow,” was selected for the exhibit by juror, Soon Warren.
Opening Reception is April 17th from 2-5 p.m.

American Plains Artists Signature Show

March 4 – April 23 at SouthWind Art Gallery, 3074 SW 29th St., Topeka, KS
Opening Reception March 4th from 5-7 p.m.
