Renowned photographer Ron Shue will present “Adventures with Katmai’s Coastal Grizzly Bears” March 3 at 7 pm in the Cleburne Senior Center, sponsored by the Cleburne Camera Club.
The Katmai Wilderness in Alaska is a nature photographer’s dream on a grand scale and it is there that you can have your own adventure with coastal grizzly bears. Through my photographs taken on two trips to Katmai, I will share my experiences and bring to the club the excitement of Katmai in its many forms. Additionally, I will discuss the basics of how others can make this an adventure for their bucket list,” said Shue.

Shue has lived and worked in Fort Worth since 1978 and has been a photographer for over 20 years, switching to digital starting in 2002. “Listening to and observing the images from Master Photographers in both the Lockheed Martin Camera Club and the Fort Worth Camera Club, my photography has been a constant journey of learning,” Shue said. As a member of the Lockheed Martin Camera Club he won the title of advanced photographer of the year in digital and prints several times over the past few years. As a member of the Fort Worth Camera club he was awarded photographer of the year in Master’s Digital for 2013.
Sharing what I have learned and sharing my photography experiences is a passion, having developed and taught the digital photography class for the Lockheed Camera Club,” he said.
Shue is a member of the Photographic Society of America where he has begun to participate in international salons. Already he has won a Best in Show Wildlife in one salon with a grizzly bear photo taken in Katmai. In September 2014 he was invited to be a speaker during the PSA annual conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
All are welcome to attend the program”, said Camera Club president Henry Long. The Cleburne Camera Club draws people from a large area. “The only requirement is that you have an interest in the visual arts or want to see some outstanding photographs,” said Long. Meetings are at 7 pm on the first and third Mondays of every month at the Cleburne Senior Center.
