In conjunction with the Irving Heritage Society‘s Celebrating Irving event, Irving Art Association is again hosting exhibits at the Jaycee Park Center for the Arts and the West Irving Library. The title of this year’s exhibit is “A View from My Window”.
For this exhibit we encouraged the community to create artwork depicting scenes or activities from this region of the country similar to the type of work created by Regionalist artist Grant Wood. We are happy to announce that more than 100 artists have contributed work for the exhibits this year, including 81 children through the IPAR recreation centers. See the Brochure for a list of artists, volunteers, sponsors and activities: IAA2018CelebrateIrvingExhibitBrochure
The artwork will hang in galleries at the Jaycee Park Center for the Arts from April 1 – April 27 and at the West Irving Library from March 25 – May 27.
The Artist Reception and Geocaching Kickoff will be on Sunday, April 15 at 2-4 pm. Everyone is invited!
The program will include certificates for everyone who participated, snacks, photo opportunities, and a family art activities table. Our local “Grant Wood” will present certificates (not the real Grant Wood but his artistic surrogate.) The Boy Scouts will also explain how to participate in the Celebrating Irving Geocaching activity.
