The McKinney Performing Arts Center (MPAC) and the Arts and Music Guild are now accepting artwork submissions for its Juried Art Show in April.

This year’s submissions will be juried by a panel of four: Amy Rosenthal, Director of the MPAC; Chad Hugghins, Chair of the McKinney Arts Commission; Gail Delger, artist and owner of LAST Art Gallery; and Russell Tether, Russell Tether Fine Art. Prize winners will be chosen by this year’s judges, Pam and Bill Campbell, William Campbell Contemporary Art, Ft. Worth.
Cash and purchase prizes totaling $8500 will be distributed as follows: ONE large scale work will be awarded the $6000. Purchase Prize, and will become part of the permanent public art collection of the McKinney Performing Arts Center. An additional $2500. in prize money will be divided among five works of art juried into the exhibit (non-purchase prize) and chosen by the judge, including one Young Artist Award chosen from among the juried artwork submitted by high school students.
Opening Reception and Awards Announcement will be the evening of Friday, April 8th in the McKinney Performing Arts Center. The juried exhibit will continue through April 23rd . All two- and three-dimensional media are allowed. Works will be juried according to original and engaging artistic vision, effective use of media, and professionalism of presentation.
Unique by Nature is open to professional and emerging artists who are legal residents of the United States and at some point have been residents of Texas. Entrants must be at least 17 years of age by May 2016.
All art work must be submitted in person on Saturday, April 2nd (9:30am-6pm), Lower Level, McKinney Performing Arts Center, downtown McKinney, EXCEPT large scale works to be considered for the Purchase Prize, which will be juried by jpg.
