TVAA’s National Identity- Our Roots call for entries – June 15 deadline

National Identity- Our Roots: TVAA Gallery Art Exhibition for July 2018

Art and culture help reveal and enhance the underlying identity, the unique meaning, value, and character of the physical and social form of a community. The identity is reflected through the community’s character and sense of place. Exploring cultural heritage offers a robust variety of benefits. We are fortunate to have the opportunity to show our roots through the visual arts.

Open to all traditions, places, folklore, faces, belongings, carnivals, cities, etc.
This is an invitation to explore the meaning that connects with you and your art work, and then share it with others. Cash awards for Best in Show and 1st place!

About the Curators: Lina Rincon
My name is Lina Rincon-Hoover. I was born in Colombia and moved to the U.S. in 1999. After living in Tampa, Florida for the first 13 years, I relocated to Frisco in 2012 with my husband and daughter.

I hold a B.A. in Art from Universidad Autonoma del Caribe and certification in Art Instruction from Fundacion Universitaria Bellas Artes, both in Colombia. I also hold a certification in Digital Photography from the University of South Florida. In addition to my formal education, I have taken multiple classes and seminars focused on Art and have exhibited my works in both the U.S. and abroad.

I happily spend many hours in front of the easel in order to bring my paintings to life. I enjoy the lengthy time I spend focusing on the most basic details and being able to see the transformation from concept and simple brushstrokes into a finished painting.
