Call for Art: TVAA Downtown Gallery
Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead)
November 3 – 28, 2014
November 1st and 2nd are the Days of the Dead, celebrated in Mexico, Latin America, and most places where there are Latino populations. The holiday combines Aztec tradition and the Catholic observance of All Saints Day and All Souls Day. The belief is that the dead will be offended by sadness and grieving, so the festivities honor them with joy by providing things for their spirits that they enjoyed in life. For this show, artists are invited to submit art based on the traditions surrounding El Dia de los Muertos.
Please submit up to three images (jpgs at 72 dpi and no longer than 1000 pixels on longest side) to Curator Jenny Keller by midnight on October 20, 2014. All mediums welcome.
