About GAVA:

Gainesville Area Visual Arts (GAVA), a non-profit organization, is located in Gainesville, TX, about 70 miles north of Dallas and Fort Worth. This arts group has over 45 active members. Retha Bond and Elnora Smith organized GAVA on August 27, 1992. It was incorporated on November 6, 2000, by Retha Bond, Elnora Smith and Lowell McCormack. There were 16 charter members.

The purpose of GAVA is to stimulate interest and knowledge of the visual arts for adults and children in the Gainesville and Cooke County, Texas, area. We meet at the Visual Arts Department of North Central Texas College. Each meeting consists of a business meeting as well as a demonstration by an artist. The public is invited to attend. The calendar can be found on this web site and lists the events for the entire year.
