Pick up your paint brushes: Start creating for 2018 Celebrate Irving! This is an open call for IAA members and residents in the Irving area. FREE to enter.
In conjunction with the Irving Heritage Society‘s Celebrating Irving event, IAA is again hosting exhibits at the Jaycee Park Center for the Arts and the West Irving Library. The title of this year’s exhibit is “A View from My Window”. For this exhibit we encourage the community to create artwork depicting scenes or activities from this region of the country similar to the type of work created by Regionalist artist Grant Wood. The artwork will hang in galleries at the Jaycee Park Center for the Arts from April 1 – April 27 and at the West Irving Library from March 25 – May 27.
We also need 3-D art and local crafts for the new glass cabinets at the IAA gallery and the display cabinets at the West Irving Library.
Artwork for the West Irving Library is due on Sunday, March 25 from 1-3 pm. (This is also pick-up date for the 2018 IAA Winter Art Exhibit there.) Address: West Irving Library, 4444 W. Rochelle, Irving 75062 near the intersection of Rochelle & Esters.
Artwork can be dropped off at IAA’s gallery from 10a-2pm March 31 with a Reception and Geocaching Kickoff on Sunday, April 15 at 2pm. Artwork may also be dropped off earlier in the week at the Members meeting on March 27 7-9pm or during Gallery hours 1-4 on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday or Thursday.
