The Business of Art: Public Art 101

Dallas Art Dealers Association (DADA), Creative Arts Center (CAC), The McKinney Avenue Contemporary (The MAC), and now the Business Council for the Arts (BCA) and the City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs (OCA), are pleased to announce their collaboration called The Business of Art. The workshop series, which began in April 2014, offers hands-on opportunities to explore being in the fine art business.

The fall workshop The Business of Art: Public Art 101 will be Saturday, Sept. 13, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at The MAC, 3120 McKinney Ave. It will include public art basics and beyond, from finding the call for artists to the completion of projects. Participants will receive in-depth information and public art resource material from the City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs.

Tickets are available for $25 in advance, $35 at the door. The cost includes lunch and seminar resource materials for each attendee. Proceeds will benefit the Edith Baker Art Scholarship. Tickets are available in advance at eventbrite.com or by calling 214.914-1099. The OCA will offer a small number of fee waivers. Please send inquiries to Kay Kallos, Public Art Manager for the City of Dallas at kay.kallos@dallascityhall.com.
