Children and Teens

Visiting Vincent (van Gogh)

In this class, students will learn about the life and history of the famous painter Vincent van Gogh. Through examples, they will study the artist’s landscapes, still lifes, portraits and self-portraits, all of which are characterized by bold colors and dramatic brushwork. Using acrylics and other mediums, students will be inspired to create their own interpretations of the artist’s works.


Surrealism Fun & Fantastical

$180 (supplies included)

Get your imagination into full gear by fantastical examples of surrealistic art! Learn how to create full images of values in art by creating your own paintings, drawings and scratchboard etchings – fun and fantastical!

Masquerading Monet 2

Students will discuss the history of Impressionism, its unique style, and the characteristics of Claude Monet’s paintings. Using acrylics and other mediums, students will be inspired to create their own interpretations of the artist’s work.

Modern Masters 1

Paint Like the Masters

July 17-21 1:30-4:00PM Grades 7-9

Students will be introduced to the works of the Masters, from Impressionism to Cubism and Modern Art. After learning about the techniques and styles of each, students will be inspired to create their own masterpieces using acrylics, pastels, watercolors and other mediums. 


Beginning Quilting

$160 (students provide their own supplies)

June 26-30 10AM-12:30PM Grades 7-12

July 24-28 1:30-4:00PM Grades 7-12

Complete a quilt in this class! Learn to cut fabric, piece a quilt top, layer with batting and backing, straight line quilt or tie the quilt, and trim and bind your quilt.

Note: Grade level indicated is for students entering the specified grade in the Fall of 2017.  E.g. 4th Grade means students who have completed 3rd grade and are entering 4th grade in the fall.
