August 3rd, 4th or 5th
This three day workshop is an in depth hands-on exploration of color. Artists of all ages will have fun learning about the complex world of color by using a variety of print and paint media. At the completion of this workshop, artists can expect to take home 3-5 colorful unique monotypes. Each artist should bring rubber dishwashing gloves and an apron. Ages 7+ are welcome to pariticpate in this FREE workshop series and parents are encouraged to get involved in this fun-creative experience. Workshops will be using low toxic oil based inks. Mild solvents and essential oils will be used for cleaning and mixing. Students should be aware that there will be some fumes and odors.
The Oak Cliff Cultural Center and Iron Frog Press are teaming up to present our first FREE Woodblock printmaking workshop! In this five day workshop artists of all experience levels can learn how to create a two color woodblock print using the Print Frog. The Print Frog is a revolutionary printmaking hand-tool and is the most efficient way to print without the need of a press. This class will cover: compositional consideration, image transfers, cutting techniques, printing, proofing and color registration. At the end of this workshop, artists can expect to take home an edition of 3-5 two-color woodblock prints.
August 4th, 5th, 6th or 7th
Each artist should bring rubber dishwasher gloves, apron and one 8×10 high contrast b/w drawing or photograph. (Age 15+) All particitpants must regrister to ensure a space in the workshop. Kits, cutting tools and Print Frogs will be available for purchase so students can continue printing outside of this workshop.

For the woodblock workshop sharp tools will be used for cutting the blocks. It is required that the artist is capable of handling sharp tools safely.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Both workshops will be taught by Matt Bagley. Matt Bagley has over 20 years’ experience in fine art and commercial printing. His work is regularly exhibited in galleries and museums both locally and nationwide. He is the master printer at Iron Frog Press, which is a Dallas based fine art press that caters to artists who want to see their vision in woodblocks. Mr. Bagley considers himself a printmaking activist and he is constantly promoting, educating and advocating the virtues of the printmaking medium. Most recently, Matt is gaining international attention for his Print Frog. This devise not only out-performs every tool in its class; the Print Frog is proving itself to being an extremely versatile and indispensable printmaking tool.
The Oak Cliff Cultural Center is a division of the City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs. The center is dedicated to fostering the growth, development and quality of multi-cultural arts within the City of Dallas. The center emphasizes innovating visual and performing arts as well as other multi-discipline events throughout the year.
