Participants will explore using placement and gesture as a means to create dynamic movement in figurative sculpture.  Participants will work from the model, using good observation to model a strong sculpture from observation, AND will work to utilize the abstract concepts of placement andgesture into the making process.  Participants will consider these ideas as a vehicle for symbolic content and as a means to create a dynamic visual experience within their sculpture.

Cost: $185                                                   (includes clay and firing of finished sculpture

Saturday, July 15th, 2017, 9:00-4:00pm

Participants will work for 9hrs from the model (1 pose) on a large scale drawing.  Participants will be encouraged to work no smaller then 4’x6’, allowing them to draw the figure at 100%, life size, also allowing participants to develop a complex composition and a well developed drawing vocabulary.  This scale will allow participants to enjoy a physically challenging approach to drawing and the powerful end-point of a large scale work of art.  Participants are also sure to develop a new understanding of the figure after working life size.  Paper and drawing boards will be provided.

Cost: $185
