OPA Master Artist Huihan Liu

brings his powerful, expressive painting style to Dallas April 6-10, 2015.

Registration for this workshop ends on March 5!  There are still spaces available for this 16-student class to be held at Asel Art’s downtown Dallas location at 2701 Cedar Springs Road.  Don’t miss the opportunity to study with this much awarded, prolific artist who was classically trained in China and the U.S.
Training: After graduating from Guangzhou Academy of Fine Art in Oil Painting with a BA in 1975, Huihan taught at his alma mater from 1979-1985. Huihan came to the United States after completing his graduate study at the same school.  There, he earned his MFA from the Graduate School of the Academy of Art College in San Francisco.
Awards: Huihan’s tour-de-force paintings have garnered numerous awards, including “Gold Medal,” Oil Painters of America [OPA] Western Regional Show, and “Members’ Choice Award,” Master Signature Division, OPA National Exhibition.  In 2012, Huihan’s “Spring of Miao Village” was selected for exhibit in London during the 30th Olympic Games there, and was included in the permanent collection of the National Museum in China.  His “Song of Spirit” won 2nd place in the 2014 OPA Masters Only Exhibition.  Huihan’s work is featured in articles by many leading national artist/collector magazines such as Art of The West, Southwest Art Magazine, The International Artists Magazine, and Artists’ Magazine.
Career: In addition to creating masterpiece paintings, and teaching workshops from San Francisco to Italy, Huihan travels extensively with his wife Weizhen, also a painter, to Tibet, France, Italy, and Taiwan in search of painting subjects.  Huihan is a Master Signature Member of Oil Painters of America, Master Member of American Impressionist Society, an Artist Signature Member of California Art Club, Artist Member of Guangdong Artists’ Association, and School of Art & Design Guangzhou University Professor in China.
