Magnolia_wSilver-andCrystal_20x20

A three-day workshop in painting realism in watercolor February 11, 12, 13—Artists Showplace

$225 SWS members/ $250 nonmembers

In February, SWS will have a unique opportunity to learn from Laurin McCracken, a well published and award-winning watercolorist. Laurin has at least a dozen signature memberships, is a popular juror, and a well-respected teacher. We have a few spaces left. Register at www.swswatercolor.org. If you have any questions, contact Pam Wilson, 972.839.1086 or pamwilson.allen@gmail.com

Each day there will be a PowerPoint presentation; a survey of basic watercolor techniques with examples from the great artists; a history of still life painting and/or examples of realistic still life painting. Each participant will work on a basic silver and crystal painting from a photo of a still life that will be provided. The object will be to learn the various techniques and color mixes need to paint a realistic still life. Emphasis will be given to the “Two-brush” technique of making objects look round. Each session will have a demonstration. Each participant gets personal attention during the painting periods.
