(Mon. – Fri.) Jan. 9 – 13, 10 am to 4 pm
Tuition: $300 for HCAF Members & $340 for Non-Members
Participants will take their small plein air landscape study and turn it into a large format painting. We will focus on drawing, composition, value, edges, and color, implementing rules of perspective and principles of design to make bigger and better representational art. Participants will draw the first couple of days, then transition to painting the latter half of the week. This is a studio class in oils for intermediate painters with some knowledge and experience.
Please bring at least one plein air panting (dry), 2 – 3 reference photos of the scene, and a larger canvas panel for the studio painting.
Bonus: Everyday we’ll have a “working lunch,” so bring a sack lunch. We will discuss different art issues; from specific topics selected by the instructor, to open discussion of topics raised by participants.
Call 830-367-5120 to register.
