Don’t miss this 2-day workshop with Junanne Peck a member of Women Printmakers of Austin and North Texas Printmakers Guild.
Release your inner creativity. Design and make simple woodcut printing blocks. Develop creative ideas to print your own fabric and paper.
Woodcut A relief printing process in which the plate is a plank of wood or MDF board. The image is carved into the MDF surface with the non-printing areas all being cut away. The remaining surface is then inked and pressed against the surface to receive the inked image. Frequently, the images have a bold and contrast look.
Peck will guide you through the process of drawing, carving, and printing from your image onto an MDF board.
At the end of your workshop you will have produced your very own one color woodcut print on paper and fabric.
No experience is necessary and the workshop is open to anyone who wants to learn how to carve and print.
