Junanne Peck Printmaking Workshop Feb. 14 at Alchemy

Introducing Junanne Peck as a visiting artist to The Alchemy Group Studio.
A multifaceted artist, Peck produces works in a range of media from acrylic and watercolor to mixed-media assemblage and encaustics. Her printmaking techniques include collagraphs, drypoint, polyester plate lithography, etching and monotypes. Drawing is the foundation of her art, it is the vehicle she uses to express many of the ideas that spring from her dreams and meditation. Her sketchbook is always at hand.

Junanne Peck is an interdisciplinary artist, with printmaking as her primary art form.  Peck is a Demo Artist for Akua Ink.  She is a seasoned educator and Teaching Artist in the DFW area.  Junanne is a TXO Artist (Texas Original Artist) selected by the Texas Commission on the Arts.  Her works are featured in solo and invitational exhibits.  Visit Junanne at: http://junannepeck.com.

Basic Monotype Printmaking with Junanne Peck

Valentines and Other Wonderful Cards and Prints
This is one fun workshop!  If I can do this, anyone can!

Monotypes are one-of-a-kind prints using simple techniques.  The classes will provide a basic introduction to the use of the etching press with the multi-layered monotypes.  Artists will produce a print plate from an original drawing or design and will become familiar with printmaking processes, tools, and techniques using non-toxic waterbased Akua inks.  Drypoint and stencils will be explored.  Emphasis will be on color, visual texture , line and composition.

Brayers
Pin Press and Etching Press
Akua Intaglio Inks
Plexi for matrix
Xacto knife/scissors
Etching needle
Some paper provided
Participants provide apron, notebook for taking notes and a roll of paper towels.
Extra Paper can be purchased at the workshop.
