Joe Anna Arnett  May 4-8, 2015

OPA Signature Artist Joe Anna Arnett brings her masterful floral and plein air talent to Weatherford’s Clark and Chandor Gardens May 4-8, 2015.  Registration for this workshop ends on March 20!  There are still spaces available for this 16-student class to be held at Weatherford’s Chandor and Clark Gardens at the height of the iris and rose seasons.  And, registrants for this class will finalize a painting of their choice in the splendid private studio of the late Douglas Chandor, a British artist who made his home in Weatherford, TX, and who painted such notables as the Queen of England and Winston Churchill.
THE CLASS: Students will spend two days painting outdoors in Clark Gardens [], named by HGTV as one of the Great American Gardens.  More than 100 species will be blooming among the fountains, wandering peacocks and floating swans, pagodas and bridges of the Gardens, including  David Austin Roses, Hybrid Tea Roses, Dr. Griffith Buck Roses,  Peggy Martin Roses, over 1400 named iris including Bearded Iris, Dutch Iris, Louisiana Iris, Spuria and Japanese Iris, and 600 varieties of daylilies.  The next two days will be spent painting outdoors at Chandor Gardens, []  the estate of the late Douglas Chandor and his Weatherford bride, Ina Kuteman Chandor.  The Garden was Chandor’s creation, and he often said that he painted in order to maintain and glorify his botanical creation.  The last day of class will be spent refining a painting in the private studio of the artist, a truly unique and special experience for all.

COST & WHAT IS INCLUDED: The fee for the class is $750.00, which includes 5 days of instruction, admissions to both Gardens and the Douglas Chandor Studio, and all lunches.  A tour of the home of Douglas and Ina Kuteman Chandor is also part of the workshop.  Accommodations are NOT included, but registrants will receive recommendations for B&Bs and hotels in Weatherford, an historic and quaint town 30 miles west of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and airport.
