Artists’ Hands on Public Art Workshop

What: North Texas Public Art Consortium is a 1-day intensive training for visual artists who are interested in working in the public realm but have never done so before. All participants receive a basic training in regional public art practice. Artist teams will participate in a hands on Mock Public Art project. Topics include: how to respond to the call for artists, how to use community input, crafting a proposal, and appearing before a selection panel. Throughout the experience, artists will hear from engineers, architects, fabricators, safety professionals, and conservators.

Spring Workshop Fee $25 includes lunch and material. Scholarships are available

Public Art Consortium is open to artists living in North Texas Counties: (Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Parker, Rockwall, Tarrant, Wise and Grayson County)
Applicants should have an interest in exploring the presentation of their work in public settings and an interest in community-building or enhancing the extant environment. Must be 18 years of age. Must have a studio practice.
