5 days with the model !   12:30 pm to 4:30 pm each day

  • Sunday, September 14th
  • Saturday, September 20th
  • Sunday, September 21st

This workshop is ideal for the drawer wanting to learn how to move into painting, the painter wanting to have a stronger drawing foundation in their work, or the artist that simply wants strong instruction with both painting and drawing from the model.   Learn to see proportions, geometry, the way light interacts with form, shapes of tone and degrees of tonal contrast.  Receive instruction on constructing a strong composition and translating drawing ideas into a painting.  Learn how to sketch with paint, working with color intelligently and applying successive layers of paint freely and effectively.  This will be a developmental approach to drawing and painting, working with the model in one pose over 5 days.  This workshop will include powerpoint presentations that inform participants  to the myriad of approaches when working from the figure.
