SEPTEMBER 29-OCTOBER 1, 2017
TO REGISTER, CALL 972–233–1223 OR GO TO http://theartistsshowplace.com/brouillette-workshop
The goal of this workshop is to experiment, have a good time and create some jewels. All levels are welcome. Bring a friend!
Each day will include lectures, readings, a question and answer session, a demo for technique, and student painting time. Individual guidance and personal critiques will be ongoing.
We are going to create mixed media collages using acrylic paint, found and purchased papers, a variety of drawing tools, and black and white photocopies or laser prints of your own travel and family photography.
Other collage elements to bring might include poetry, letters, postcards, tickets, receipts, monoprints and drawings, rice and tissue papers, maps, patterned paper, labels, graph paper, ledgers, vintage book pages, engravings, stamps. Bring black and white copies or laser prints of your photography in a variety of sizes instead of using the original photos or found papers.
We will use matte medium for adhesive, your favorite acrylic paints for color, plus anything you like to draw with, such as pencil, ink, charcoal, color pencils, and water soluble crayons to embellish our paintings.
-Emphasis is on design. Balance is key.
-We are going to work relatively small and quickly!
-We will work in a series.
-Pulling it together – tweaking the color, value and design, for a unified image that works!
