DIGITAL PHOTOGRAHY: UNDERSTANDING THE BASICS
February 24 & 26, 2015
This workshop is for beginning photographers who want to develop a better understanding of the endless creative possibilities their digital cameras offer. The workshop will empower the photographer to take control of the many camera features, while advancing their artistic skills.
Through lively class discussion and digital presentation, Randy will cover the basics of digital photography including: using the various camera apertures for greater impact, creative use of shutter speeds to freeze or blur motion, understanding camera light sensitivity (ISO speed), and the various settings and shooting modes. We will learn how to properly interpret the camera’s histogram and how to adjust the in-camera white balance to achieve the desired color affect. During the class, he will provide a brief overview of lens choices, lighting and flash options, and much more.
By the end of the workshop, students will have acquired a solid foundation of their camera’s creative potential and gain a greater confidence in mastering those options to produce images with artistic intent and purpose.
