Digital Photography: Understanding The Basics
This workshop is for beginning and novice photographers who own a Nikon digital camera and want to develop a better understanding of its creative possibilities. Nikon cameras offer a vast array of creative potential-but only if you learn how to utilize them and why. Only six participants will be permitted to allow for a more productive and rewarding learning experience.
Through lively class discussion, digital presentation, and hands-on exercises, Randy will cover the basics of digital photography including: using the various camera apertures for greater impact, creative use of shutter speeds to freeze or blur motion, understanding camera light sensitivity (ISO speed), and the various settings and shooting modes. We will learn how to properly interpret the camera’s histogram and how to adjust the in-camera white balance to achieve the desired color affect. Randy will briefly touch on lighting and creative flash options, photographic composition, and there will be time to play with some of the latest Nikon lenses from extreme wide angle to super telephoto.
By the end of the workshop, students will have acquired a basic understanding of their Nikon camera and its creative potential and gained a greater confidence in mastering those options to take their personal photography to the next level.
