Calligraphy – Cristie Campo

This easy monoline calligraphy class will give the student confidence to address envelopes or write a beautiful poem in calligraphy. It is easy to master and a ton of fun.

Saturday, February 28th 1 pm – 4 pm (1 day)

Nuno Felted Clothing – Suzanne Morgan

Students may choose to make a pull over tunic, a longer vest with a flirty hemline or a jacket. We will create the pieces from the instructor’s hand dyed silks and extra fine, super soft merino roving.
Saturday, February 28th & Saturday, March 7th 9:30 am – 4:30 pm (2 days)

Encaustic: 3D: Deanna Wood, Encaustic Center

Learn the basics of creating dimensional encaustic pieces. We will explore building up and sculpting the wax, creating sculptural forms with paper and fabric, and embedding objects into the wax.

Saturday, February 28th 12 pm – 3 pm (1 day)

Steampunk Assemblage – Juli Hulcy

Steampunk is a popular movement that fuses old world mechanics, 19th century style and Victorian/Gothic influences. You will use gears, bolts, watch springs and other found objects to create you own unique sculpture.

Saturday, February 28th & Sunday March 1st 10 am – 4 pm (2 days)

Fabulous Adventures in Fabric – Val Guignon

Experiment with various fabrics using oil pastels, dyes, rust, string, paint, heat and ice. Bring swatches of different fabrics, gloves, apron, t-shirts, and a sense of adventure.

Sunday, March 1st 10 am – 4 pm (1 day)

Drawing Realism – Maureen Killaby

This workshop provides step-by-step demonstrations on how to create textures such as metal, reflective objects, people – skin, eyes, hair, teeth – glass and clothing. Topics include an introduction of light sources, line and tonal drawing to produce modeled three-dimensional drawings and portraits.

Saturday, March 7th & 14th 10 am – 4 pm (2 days)

Poetry for the Intimidated – Joe Milazzo, CARVE

Students will read and write together to demystify the various ways in which poets and poems use language as an artistic medium. If you’ve ever felt that poetry is difficult, or resists interpretation, but have a strong desire to appreciate the distinct pleasures poetry has to offer, this workshop is for you.

Saturday, March 7th 1:30 pm – 4:30 pm (1 day)

Mixed Media Painting – Katherine Baronet

Students will learn how to develop and work from concepts including text, imagery and symbolism and will leave with an understanding of layering, glazing, multi-dimensional collage, masking and patterns.

Sunday, March 8th 11 am – 4 pm (1 day)
