Collaging in Your Art Journal or on Canvas July 27

Sharon Giles will lead the July 27 Open Art Night workshop sponsored by Irving Art Association.

This workshop is FREE but supplies are required! RSVP to or on the Meetup site. (Meetup is free to join.)

Friday, July 27. 7-9 pm at the Jaycee Park Center for the Arts, 1975 Puritan Dr., Irving TX 75061

Bring whatever handmade, found or bought paper you have to create collages in your art journal or on small canvases, boards, watercolor paper, etc.

Supports: Bring your art journal, small canvas, watercolor paper or boards.

Acrylic medium, gel or whatever glue you prefer.

If you want to incorporate paint, bring your paints and drawing or mark-making media or tools.

Optional: stamps, found objects, puff paint, glitter, stencils, palette knives, ribbons, etc.

Sharon: I’ll have some composition tips for you and samples to show you. Note: I’ll also bring some blank small journals if you want to start one – just reimburse me $1. Suggestion: you may want to work on two small collages at a time because of the drying time factor.

PS. You might want to create the painted background before the Meetup or use a failed painting to collage over.

Doors open at 6:30pm.
