A CREATIVE WORKSHOP. If you’ve seen member, Valarie Synck’s artwork, you already know she uses many different media to express her creative ideas.

In our January 18th (2pm at Rowlett Community Centre) Get Creative and Inspired art program, she will show you how to make a beautiful “Beaded Bug”. These “bugs” are the kind you will want to possibly wear as a pendant or broach — or just sit on a leaf of your house plant, to draw peoples attention. Using wire and lovely colored beads, Valarie will walk you through the steps to create these bug beauties. ALL materials and instructions will be supplied. Valarie asked that anyone who has extra jewelry pliers (any type) to please bring them (mark your tools).

Valarie is a long time resident of Garland and has taught children and adults in her home and abroad. She is presently a member and president of  “Artists ‘Round Texas”. Valarie is a self taught artist and has been painting since 1988 and drawing non-stop since childhood. She has sold several pieces of her work internationally and throughout the U.S. She enjoys many media and is heavily influenced by Van Gogh, Renoir and Edward Hopper, although she has a style all her own. She has won awards for her drawings, jewelry and 3D beaded sculpture, from Artists ‘Round Texas juried Small Works shows as well as Desoto Art League juried shows. She has participated in the “Ripple Effect” showcasing eleven of her acrylic paintings of sea life for the “Kettle Art Gallery” at Deep Ellum in Dallas.
