3-DAY MARCH WORKSHOP

This workshop will cover and review basics of portrait painting. There will be focus on the challenges of capturing a likeness in your portraits. We will demonstrate how to measure the facial proportions that give individual subjects their own special identities.
There will be demonstrations and colorful a/v presentations illustrated with lots of examples of famous artists who have mastered likenesses in their own unique ways. We will have multiple models pose so that you can experience the joys of painting directly from life. Often we have costumed models to make the poses and your paintings more vivid and interesting.
Gene Dillard will lead the workshop. He has years of experience as a professional portrait printer. And, years of expertise gained from a career in the graphic arts, where the skills for exactness are important and apply to the need for accuracy in creating likenesses in portrait painting.

The sessions will start at 9:00 each morning. At noon there will be a hour break for lunch. The afternoon session will last from 1:00 to 4:00.

The cost for the 3-Day workshop is $350. A $100 deposit will hold a spot for your. Space is limited, so the workshop will include only up to 5 participants allowing for a lot of individual instruction. The deposit and/or full payment can be easily made online here.
A detailed outline of the workshop will be provided after you register or upon request ahead of time. Also, a supply list will be be provided.
Important to know, you can bring a sack lunch or dine at one of the many colorful eateries in Downtown Plano.
