Title: Hot Houston Oil Refinery
24″ x 24″
I’m involved with caretaking my husband who has ALZ, so I have not seen you or my old painting friends for awhile. However, I do love the color yellow. I have many fond memories of happy times with family and grandchildren around the table in my yellow kitchen in Farmers Branch. However, I’m reminded with this summer weather of how hot yellow can get.
This is an old oil painting done using a palette knife, and my impression of an even hotter Houston oil refinery. My favorite yellow painting and artist is Gustav Klimt’s “Tree of Life” (or “The Embrace”). His use of gold leaf inspires me.
