SQUARES Challenge entry, Sharon Giles

Memory Matrix
Mixed Media, 7″ x7″

Whenever I consider squares, I’m reminded of the grid, the visual basis of modern design. Since I hate to feel regimented, I like to render the grid askew. And then contrast it with something organic or messy. In “Memory Matrix” I’m playing with the idea of neurons in the brain, connected and unconnected, in a structure that underlies our memories and our perception of reality.
