PATTERN Challenge entry, Akshita Jain

Title – My Vase Collection
Size – 11 X 14 inches
Medium – Acrylic on canvas

Pattern and repetition, to me, mostly has been core of my doodle art (often during those boring meeting at work, the margins of my scratch pad are my doodle ground). This pattern has been one of my favourites and I think vases hold them best.

The pattern in this painting is created by repeating shaded angular sections. And to bring in coherence, the same has been repeated on all vases of varying shapes and colors. Flowers have been kept to black sketches to complement the vibrancy of vase colors.

One clear challenge that I faced was handling three brushes at the same time when covering a vase – darkest, lightest, merge. Quick repeat!
No doubt each stroke was every bit fun.
