Latino Arts Fest entries due Oct. 27

Eligibility: Open to all artists within 100 mile radius of Dallas – Fort Worth area. Must be 17 years or older. All mediums welcome, with the exception of video. No size restrictions. Art submitted must have had to be created within last 2 years and not granted awards in other competitions.
Prizes: $1,000 for 1st Place, $500 for 2nd Place, and $250 for 3rd Place. There will also be a Popular Vote Prize with a $500 award.
Submission Guidelines: $10 for 2 images, with minimum of 2 images. All images additional images are $5 extra per image. Images must be submitted with title, size, medium, and date information to:

DeSoto Member’s Only Art Show Call for Entries


The Member’s Only Art Show is fast approaching – in fact it kicks off on November 28 with all artwork due.  The show will be on exhibit from December 3, 2012 through December 28, 2012.  The artwork must be picked up from the show on January 2, 2013.

There are no storage facilities at the City Hall. All artwork must be picked up!

The Awards for the Member’s Only Art Show will be made on  December 6, 2012 at 6:30PM at the annual Christmas Party/dinner/silent Auction.  This wll be held in the Bluebonnet Room of the DeSoto City Center.  The dinner is a covered dish affair.

The silent auction is a fund raiser to help pay for art shows and other activities.  Please contribute your artwork, art supplies, art materials or other valuable goods for the auction.  (no white elephant stuff)

Exhibit Opportunity for TAC Members: All-In TAC Show

Ah, brainstorming! A co-worker had a great idea about our empty galleries this month: Any Texas Artists Coalition member may enter up to 2 works for a $20 fee. All work will be hung. No jury, no worries. We have both the Front and the Back Galleries, so plenty of room for everyone, so there are no size limitations. The All-In TAC Show will open with a reception on November 9, 6 – 9PM. You must be a current, paid-up member of the TAC to participate, but you can renew or join on the spot. Bring your work in to the Fort Worth Community Arts Center on November 1st or 2nd between 8:30AM and 7:30PM. Let’s see some new stuff; let’s see some old stuff you’ve never put out there.  Questions? Collage, Printmaking, & Assemblage

November 1 – 30, 2012

Collage – a technique of art production where the artwork is made from an assemblage of different materials to make a new whole.

Printmaking – a process of creating artwork by various means of printing on paper or other surfaces.

Assemblage – a process of making artistic compositions by putting together found objects.

Artists are invited to submit up to three entries in jpg format at 300 dpi and no longer than 1000 pixels on longest side. All types of collage, printmaking, and assemblage will be considered.

People’s Choice Show call for entries

The third annual People’s Choice Art Exhibit and Sale will be held November 5th through the 11th at the Depot 100 E. Main St. Allen TX, Hosted by Like Minded Friends and the Allen Heritage Guild. Categories are painting, graphite drawings/charcoal, sculpture, photo, pottery and fabric. The show is open to artists at all levels, from student to professional.

As in the past The People’s Choice Art Show is an event where the visitors to the show are the jury. Ribbons will be awarded to the artwork that receives the most votes in each category and a cash award of $300 for the single artwork that receives the most overall votes. Winners will be announced at a grand reception beginning at 7:00 PM Saturday November 10th. Hours of the show will be open 12:00 PM till 6:00 PM Monday through Friday. Saturday 12:00 PM till 11:00 PM. Sunday 12:00 PM till 6:00 PM.

Show info:

  • Art will be hung or displayed by Like Minded Friends.
  • Hanging art will be limited to more than will fit tastefully within four square feet.
  • Hanging art work must be framed or gallery wrapped with wire hangers attached (no saw hooks).
  • Pottery, Assemblages, and Sculpture will be displayed on tables and risers.
  • Each piece of art must be titled, medium stated, with price or NFS.
  • Artwork will be received for display Thursday and Friday, November 1st and 2nd from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
  • After show pick up of art work will be 3:00 PM till 9:00 PM Monday and Tuesday November 12th and 13th.

Night Glow Art Show- Call To Artists

Studio Eighty Charity Art Show
One Night Event: Friday, November 9, 2012 6-9pm

Studio Eighty is now accepting entries for a one-night charity group art show, Friday November 9, 2012 Titled “NIGHT GLOW”. 
The connecting theme for this show is black light art, or UV reactive work, with an emphasis on LOCAL Artists. Emerging and established artists welcome. Artists are limited to 3 submissions. Accepted Mediums: painting, drawing, collage, printmaking, photography, sculpture, and installation. BUT THEY MUST GLOW IN SOME WAY UNDER BLACK LIGHT! 2D Pieces are not to exceed 4ft x 4 ft. 3D works should not exceed 100 lbs and not exceed 36″x36″ floor area. Deadline for entries 6PM October 26, 2012. Notification of acceptance by October 29, 2012. Upon acceptance you will receive drop off and pick up information. 80% of sales will go to artist, and it will be silent auction format ( with reserve set by artist) to get people competitively bidding!

2012 9×12 Works on Paper call for entries

The FWCAC announces an open call for entries: 2012 9 x 12 Works on Paper Show December 7-29, 2012 

Artworks on or of paper may be any size, but MUST fit in a 9 x 12 envelope; folded, 3D or multi-part OK.  Unmatted, unframed photography, drawing, painting, printmaking, collage, mixed media, cast or folded paper or digital prints OK (other materials attached-OK). Original artworks only; no reproductions.  Put artist’s name, address, title & date of work and medium on back.  No entry form.  Open to all artists – no age or geographical restrictions.  All artwork will be shown – no jury.

Entry fee is $5US/piece; 6 entries max.  Postmark deadline November 15, 2012.  All artwork for sale for $100US; artist gets 75%.  Unsold works with SASE will be mailed by Jan 31; no metering.
